How and When to Call Customer Support

You can save time and help ensure minimal service interruptions by following some simple steps. Before calling for service, make sure the problem is with the line and not your equipment.

1. Test your phone

  • If you have more than one telephone or fax machine, unplug the one on which you noticed the problem
  • Plug another phone or fax machine into the same wall jack to see if the same problem exists. If the trouble stops, the problem is probably with your equipment.
  • For service under these circumstances, follow the instructions on the warrantee or contact the supplier of your equipment.

2. Determine if the trouble is in your wiring

  • Contact One's repair department and report the problem to a repair technician
  • If a One technician determines the problem to be with inside wiring, you can repair the wiring yourself, if you are qualified, or hire a private contractor.

3. Types of problems to report to the One Communications Repair Department

  • No dial tone on any lines
  • Can't receive incoming calls
  • Can't make outgoing calls
  • Cross talk interference
  • Poor quality, e.g., static, clicking, or other noise
  • Telephone features that are not working
